Elder Care at Home

Elder care at home brings professional, trained caregivers directly to your parent or grandparent's home - so they continue living in familiar surroundings with dignity and independence rather than being moved to a facility. Zorgers has been providing elder care services across North India since 2013, with trained attendants and nurses covering day shifts, night shifts and 24-hour live-in care based on what your loved one needs.

Whether your elderly parent needs help with daily activities like bathing and feeding, is managing a condition like dementia, Parkinson's or stroke, is bedridden, lives alone while you are away, or simply needs regular company and supervision - we assess their specific situation, match them with the right caregiver, and provide ongoing oversight through a dedicated care manager.

Elder care is not one-size-fits-all. A physically active 80-year-old who feels lonely needs something completely different from a bedridden 75-year-old recovering from a hip fracture. We understand this, which is why every care plan at Zorgers is tailored to the individual - not generic.

Chronic Condition Management

Your parent has diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, arthritis, kidney issues or COPD requiring daily monitoring, medication management and symptom awareness. Our caregivers are trained to recognize warning signs and maintain health routines.

Post-Surgery or Hospitalization

Your parent has come home after a hip replacement, cardiac event, stroke or major surgery. They need help with recovery exercises, wound care, mobility, hygiene and diet - more than the family can provide alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Elder care at home - answers to the most common questions from families

Q1.  What does elder care at home include?

Elder care at home covers a wide range of support depending on what your loved one needs. It typically includes personal hygiene care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, diaper management), mobility support (helping with walking, transfers from bed to chair, wheelchair assistance), medication reminders, meal preparation and feeding support, companionship (conversation, activities, emotional presence), light exercises, health monitoring, and safety supervision. For clinical needs like injections, wound dressings, or catheter management, a trained nurse is assigned instead of or alongside the attendant.

Q2.  What does elder care at home cost? What is the daily charge?

Elder care at home at Zorgers is priced between Rs 800 to Rs 1,300 per day, depending on the type of shift and the care requirement:

  • Day shift (8-10 hours) - for families who need a caregiver during daytime when they are at work
  • Night shift (10-12 hours) - when the elderly patient needs overnight supervision and assistance
  • 24-hour live-in care - for patients who need round-the-clock presence and support
The exact pricing within this range depends on the patient's care complexity - a simple companionship arrangement is at the lower end, while specialized dementia or bedridden care requiring higher skill is at the upper end. Call our care team for a specific quote based on your loved one's situation - we provide transparent pricing with no hidden charges.

Q3.  Which cities have a Zorgers office and what services are available there?

Zorgers has offices in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurugram and Delhi. In these cities we offer the complete range of elder care services - short nursing visits (for specific clinical tasks), day shift care, night shift care, and 24-hour live-in care. Having a local office means faster caregiver deployment, regular supervisor visits to the patient's home, and a dedicated care manager who can respond quickly to any situation.

Q4.  Do you provide elder care in cities where you don't have an office - like Amritsar, Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Bathinda, Kaithal or Panipat?

Yes, we do serve these locations, but on a limited basis. In cities like Amritsar, Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Bathinda, Kaithal and Panipat - where we do not have a local office - we provide 24-hour live-in care only. This means a trained caregiver stays at the patient's home round the clock, which works well for most elderly care situations in these areas. Day shift, night shift and short nursing visits are not available in these remote locations. Call us to confirm availability for your specific city.

Q5.  What is the difference between an attendant and a nurse for elder care?

An attendant (caregiver) provides personal care - hygiene, mobility assistance, feeding, companionship, medication reminders, and daily routine support. A nurse provides clinical medical care - injections, IV administration, wound dressings, catheter or feeding tube management, post-surgical care, and vitals monitoring. Most elderly patients who need day-to-day help at home require an attendant. A nurse is recommended when the patient has medical procedures that need clinical skill. Our team will guide you on the right choice after understanding your parent's condition.

Q6.  Can I hire a caregiver for only daytime or only nighttime?

Yes, in cities where Zorgers has an office (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurugram, Delhi). We offer flexible shift options: day shift (typically 8-10 hours), night shift (typically 10-12 hours), and 24-hour live-in care. In remote locations served without a local office, only 24-hour live-in care is available. Call our care team to discuss the right option for your city and situation.

Q7.  How do I know the caregiver sent to my home is safe and trustworthy?

All Zorgers caregivers are Aadhaar-verified and background-checked before joining our network. They undergo clinical and caregiving training before being deployed to patients. Each patient is also assigned a dedicated care manager who is your single point of contact and conducts regular supervisor check-ins at the patient's home. In the rare case where a caregiver is not a good fit, we arrange a replacement quickly. Your family's safety and peace of mind is our primary concern.

Q8.  My parent has dementia or Alzheimer's - do you have specially trained caregivers?

Yes. Dementia care requires different skills from standard elder care, and Zorgers has caregivers specifically trained for it. Our dementia-trained caregivers understand structured routine management (important for orientation and reducing confusion), behaviour handling (managing wandering, agitation, sundowning, and resistance to care), cognitive engagement activities, and patient communication techniques for those with declining verbal ability. Please mention this specifically when you call so we can match you with the right caregiver.

Q9.  I live abroad and need care arranged for my parent in India - can Zorgers help?

Yes, and this is a common situation for us. Many of our elder care clients are NRI families with parents or grandparents in India. You can call or WhatsApp us from anywhere. Our team will assess your parent's needs, arrange the caregiver, and provide you with regular updates so you stay informed. Our dedicated care manager system means there is always someone accountable on the ground who you can contact directly. We manage everything - from the initial assessment to ongoing supervision.

Q10.  How do I get started with elder care for my parent?

Getting started is simple. Call or WhatsApp our care team, or submit the enquiry form on this page. Our care advisor will speak with you to understand your parent's condition, what kind of daily support is needed, the shift timing that suits your family, and any specific medical considerations. Based on this, we recommend the right caregiver type and share a care plan with pricing. Once agreed, we deploy the caregiver quickly - often within 24-48 hours. We guide you through every step.
